Homemade turkey burgers are always a good choice!
- 1 ½ lbs (0.68kg) lean ground turkey breast
- ½ chopped red onion
- ½ cup skim milk
- ½ cup bread crumbs
- 1 large egg
- ½ cup chopped parsley
- 1 tbsp minced garlic
- Salt +Pepper
- Mix all ingredients together with your hands. (Yup it gets messy!) 😉
- Form the ground turkey mixture into patties.
- Grill immediately on barbeque or you can freeze them by placing in a Ziploc bag or in a sealed Tupperware container making sure to place parchment paper between each patty.
Recipe Yields: 8 Large Patties
Savour these patties as a burger with a whole grain bun and your favourite toppings! Better yet, you can boost the nutrition value of your meal by enjoying the patty on its own topped with sautéed onions or wrapped up in Napa Cabbage or some Swiss chard. Both and are packed with many antioxidant plant compounds and contain high levels of many vitamins and minerals including vitamin C, K, iron, and calcium! 🙂
